It’s official: I declare myself asthma-free!

And I’m hoping this entry would not jinx it.

The last time I had an asthma attack was December 6 of last year. I was brought to the emergenc y room for the nth time and it was one of those days when I felt like I wouldn’t be able to survive. It has been a real struggle for me; most of the time, I just wanted to give up.

I really, really hate people who think that asthma is just a simple thing. Tingnan natin mangyayari ‘pag nagkaanak kayo ng hikain  (Wag naman sana). Being allergic to almost everything (dust, pollen, fur, dairy, blah blah) is definitely not a joke. Neither is having to miss school twice or thrice a week.

Nikko and I went to Quiapo the other day. It was our first time to be there together and we were planning to celebrate my one-year-asthma-free-condition by praying inside the Quiapo Church. Unfortunately, it was a Friday. There were thousands and thousands of people. Thus, we weren’t able to go inside.

I thank my new med (Symbicort) and Father Suarez (cyber prayer on YouTube) for this wonderful miracle! Of course, I still have to keep taking my meds and I still have to be careful about myself… but at least for now, no more Janna-sickness-cycle, no more fever caused by mere drizzles, no more sore throat or nosebleed. AT LEAST FOR NOW.

Plus, I thank my amazing family for always, always being there, for not getting tired of spending thousands of pesos for my health, for not getting sick of literally spoon-feeding me (I love you, Mom), for taking care of me like a baby, each and every day. I thank my wonderful friends for worrying about me, for lending me their umbrellas (even if it meant that they were to get wet), and for never allowing me to do any strenuous activity. And I thank Nik (pronounced as Neek) for everything he’s done for me, for always praying that I get well, for formulating plans on how I could be healthier, for getting mad at me for eating too much candies and chocolates, for ironically, giving me those chocolates and everything else that would make me happy.

What a great, great Christmas gift for me! :D Thank you, Lord! I love you!

Okay, back to work. No time to re-read and/or edit. AMF LT. Pffft.

PABLO BANILA is indeed, annoying.

I missed Xanga! And everything else about the internet! We finally got our landline (but with a new number) and DSL so I’m back to uploading, downloading, catching up with friends, buying stuff, and making money. Plus, I have a month to do whatever I want ‘cause of the sembreak. Plans include:

1.       Getting Sophisticat back on track. I mean updating, promoting, changing the layout and everything. I missed some orders ‘cause of my internet problems. Gah.

2.       Watching movies, lots of them. I have this new goal of watching everything in that “1001 Movies You Should See Before You Die” book. I am determined even though I’m not even close to a hundred and sometimes, I get distracted with new movies. Some really old movies are hard to find so if any of you can help me with this goal, I would forever be grateful.

3.       Reading books, again, lots of them. Like in the previous number, being able to finish everything included in “1001 Books You Should Read Before You Die” is a long-term goal.

4.       Learning how to sew. Yeah! I’ve always wanted to be able to sew my own clothes ‘cause there are times when I couldn’t find the exact things I want. Sometimes, even the best stores are just delayed!

5.       On second thought, I guess I’ll just look for someone skilled and have some of my clothes custom-made. I already have different kinds of fabric waiting.

7.       Learning Photoshop. I am frustrated. Now, I realize the worth of Computer subjects. You, high school kids are so lucky! During my time it was just Visual Basic and Powerpoint! I was not even allowed to bring a 2.0 MP camera to school or prom or ball then! And now, I see all these high school kids’ Multiply sites with lots of classroom pictures, soiree pictures, prom pictures, etc. Sayang talaga!

8.       Going to places with Nikko. I’ve always wanted to take that Intramuros walk with him.

10.   Of course, fixing my room! Haha. We’ve been here for months now and I still haven’t had the time to put everything in order. Haha. My shoes are in those uniform boxes Nikko gave me. I’m planning to label them with descriptions and/or pictures. My clothes and bags are again arranged by color but every time I go out, I end up making the place a disaster and of course being reprimanded by Mommy.

11.   Visiting and/or Meeting up with friends. Cousins. Old ones. High school ones. College ones. Pregnant ones (Haha, just one pala. Love you, Mhe). Of course, only pretty ones. Hahaha.

12.   Deciding what to do with my hair. You know that I am a hair-freak. I just love frequently getting new looks. Now that my hair is back to its not-so-short-but-not-long phase again, I am tempted to get a boycut. But I don’t know ‘cause sometimes I miss my long hair. I’ve tried almost everything with my hair (except what? Extensions?) and I’m now running out of ideas.

It shall end here. I’m somewhat superstitious so I don’t want to continue. Next time na lang.
